To create a proper origin for your statue you'll need to adjust the pivot point of the model.
- Manual:
- Set the geometry to the origin in Object Mode with 3D Viewport menu bar -> Object -> Set Origin -> Geometry to Origin
- Switch to Edit Mode, set the view to for example Front Orthographic with Numpad 1, select all polygons ( A key ) and move the whole statue with, G key ( then, for example, Z key ), that the pivot point is on the level of where you want the statue to rotate around, like for example the feet.
- Automatic: Set the origin to the statue's center in Object Mode with 3D Viewport menu bar -> Object -> Set Origin -> Origin to Geometry
