Freelancing

I have been a freelancer from 2006 to 2011 and have been working for companies like for example Harley Davidson, RWE, Systaic, and ThyssenKrupp. In about 4,5 years I successfully finished more than 15 big and small multimedia and game projects with Unity for customers around the world.

 

Robotics

In 2011 I started a personal robotics research and development project. I evaluated hardware and software to build and simulate my own robot. I decided to use Unity's powerful physics engine to create a robotics simulator to simulate and read / write to the real hardware to build a spider robot that can climb stairs and retrieve objects.
The virtual part of this project is currently developed. I'd need about 15000 € for the hardware to build this robot in reality.

In 2012 and 2013 I have been working in Würzburg / Germany on several Unity projects for Audi AG in Ingolstadt / Germany.
I got a termination for convenience because of the company's very bad order situation.

In 2013 and 2014 I have been working in Hamburg / Germany on an app called Tigerbooks as a Unity developer.
I terminated because of insufficient teamwork with the executing agency in Munich.

In 2016 and 2017 I have been working in Mainz / Germany on several Augmented and Virtual Reality projects for mobile devices made with Unity. 
I terminated because of no raise in salary.

I terminated because they tried to force me to do night shifts and I didn't even have a computer to work with.

While I have been working for the company Saatmann I have been using Unity ( and Unreal ) in my free time.
I terminated because of broken engagements like for example no home office in February ( winter ).

In 2019 I have been working remote as a Senior Consultant for C#, Unity, Machine Learning Agents and Augmented & Mixed Reality to develop multimedia and games for Microsoft Hololens.
I terminated because it wasn't fun to create useless Hololens 2 apps for worst-case scenarios with a stubborn beginner team without Hololens 2 hardware and without an artist.

 

Now what ?

I am taking a break from the employee-hamster wheel in 2020+.

However, I am working on two personal projects:

  • Sculptures: Designed virtually, then 3D printed and painted with oil colors.
  • Game: After successfully finishing a prototype and proof of concept of a top-down ( mobile ) action-brainer game with Unity in 2019, I decided to create a complete game.
